description

The SPAS-12 is a combat shotgun designed in the late 1970s by the Italian company Franchi S.p.A. The SPAS-12 (which stands for “Special Purpose Automatic Shotgun”) is intended for military and law enforcement units engaged in close combat situations who demand firepower superiority. This versatile shotgun is designed with two action settings; one is semi-automatic in which every time the trigger is pulled a round is fired, and the second setting is a manually operated pump action repeater. Typically, the SPAS-12 can hold eight-12 gauge rounds which can all be fired, in the semi-automatic setting, in mere seconds. Most SPAS-12s were manufactured with a folding buttstock, pistol grip, and rifle-type sights. The flexibility and dependable nature of this weapon, along with the immense firepower, has made it very popular instrument among militaries and law enforcement agencies in various countries.
