description

The PSG-1 is a semi-automatic sniper rifle that was developed by Heckler & Koch GmbH from the early 1970's until the mid 1980s. The “Präzisionsscharfschützengewehr”, which is German for "precision sharpshooter rifle", remains one of the most expensive factory made sniper rifles on the market today. Firing the 7.62x51mm round, it was created in response to the need for snipers to be able to efficiently engage successive targets without the need to recover or manually reload from their last shot. Essentially, the PSG-1 is a heavily modified G3 rifle however, it was never intended for full military use due to its excessive weight and unproven durability. The sniper rifle is however a valuable asset to law enforcement agencies and has been adopted by various police forces in Europe and the US.
